8 week mark!

firstly its flown by and now we are entering the next stages  and weve done loads with the bubba so here are some of them!

weve started randomly naming stuffed animals and toys  like ryan the lion lee the bee and his sons aktar and Akbar the stars


some less nice things you have to book in for the start of the injections which surprisingly they don't like and will cry!

the crazy sleeping pattern has been established.  its like Russian roulette each night he has one really good period of sleep and you can only put him back down in his sleeping pod once. so  1 5 hour sleep and 1 put down if it happens at 9 when he likes to sleep then he's up at 2 till 3 and if were lucky hell sleep till 5 if not he can be up all night from 4.  if he goes to sleep at 10 then he's fine and well sleep till 3 feed till 4ish then sleep till 6 if were lucky which is weird.

we also stopped using the moses basket after week 5 ish as it wasn working and now use

this which is awesome! we did have to buy an in between cot as well which this sits in until he's big enough to use the cot.  this pod snuggles them in nice and tight and can be used for tummy time as well as sleeping in the same bed as you as they cant roll anywhere. 

as a family unit we have all ways enjoyed going out for meals and we haven't let the baby stop us! weve enjoyed many meals out mainly due to the car seat for some reason as I think all babies love it once hes in and the engine is on its like the green light for sleep! and as we have a 3 in 1 pram set up we can put it on the wheels and enjoy many hours of quiet although wherever we go their is some random screaming child to try and ruin it!

also on the topic of going out do stuff with ur bubba its sound obvious but when our crazy visiting wife which is a combination of midwife and health visitor  is surprised that our child is breastfed I think this may escape some people as well!


not pointing any fingers

my lil boy recently got a spot on the baby sensory page for dressing up in his star wars gear for space week! BUT it doesn't have to cost  going for walks etc seeing things will all help to stimulate babies development


yes it happens especially when you think no one can hear the sudden urge to spout high pitched nonsense takes over and its even worse if they start smiling!

so to sum it all up

1 buy appropriate stuff when needed
2 baby talking is not optional
3 loss of sanity helps

so in the next 4 weeks as a taster its more injections baby sensory and top tips for staying warm in the winter months!

to poo or not to poo!

so as the weeks roll on and the digestive system starts up you'll notice a definite change in the back end!

so at week 5 its pretty much like a korma and you may also notice that after a few days you haven't seen one. firstly for those dads that end up doing the nappies changes will be happy to not clean up the mess especially if they have squirmy babies.  It does after a few days go the other way though and you end up thinking where is the poo! BUT don't worry as this happened to us after 8 days of not seeing any we were slightly worried.

and then he did the most GIGANTIC POO! ever and as its my job it wasn't great but we both felt better and here is the information bit

breast milk has very little waste in it so they wee lots but don't all ways poo lots BUT if its been over 10 days its time to see the doctor!

also in other news 1 in 20 babies have under developed tear ducts so if ur baby has a watery gunky eye its probably that!
